Why Read It?

I'm going to start you out with some important facts from the word of God, and if I do it right, by the time you finish this article, you will want to start reading the Bible.

The Bible says: Jesus did not remain dead! After dying on the cross, He reappeared himself before 500 people for proof that HE IS ALIVE! Jesus then promises to give all those who believe the supernatural power of His Holy Spirit....to guide, guard, and direct your life. He promises to bless the lives of those who believe, by faith, who have not seen Him. And last, but best of all, God promises that if you look for Him wholeheartedly, you will find Him when you seek Him.

Everyone! You want to know why you should read the Bible.....because it shows God you want to get to know Him! Then guess what happens? You'll start to feel Him in your life! You know why? Because He's Alive!!

Here's how it works: Jesus, through His Holy Spirit, starts changing your heart on many levels. After that, He starts putting thoughts and ideas in your head, along with triggering your gut feelings when you've done something right and if you do something wrong. Then, God goes to work on directing certain happenings in your life through people, places, and things. So forget all the reasons you have been told as to why you need to study the Bible! Who gets excited about anything they're told they have to study?!! Nobody!

Read the Bible everyone for the sole purpose of wanting to feel God's presence, and to finally recognize all the amazing ways in which

He shows up!

Here is one example: Why do you think your pastor is so on fire for God? Hello!! Because he reads the Bible everyday! And for that, God has been doing amazing things in his life! He wants to do the same for you, but you spend no time proving you want a relationship with Him! You just pray a little and then show up at church for an hour on Sunday and try to get to know Him through your pastor.

Here is why that won't work: Just for a moment think of someone you are really close to.....now think how close you would be to that person if you hadn't spent the time you did to get to know him or her. Here is another thought, do you think you could have had a real close relationship with this person through the eyes and thoughts of someone else? You may feel as if you know them, because you've heard so much about them....but would you really know them?

Isn't this exactly what you are doing through your pastor once a week at church? Think about it. Your pastor only speaks 52 times a year with hopes of getting you excited enough about God to desire a deeper relationship with Him. Truthfully you can't know anyone on a deeper level through someone else. The only way you can have a deep, genuine closeness, and actually feel God in your life, is if you show Him you want to get to know Him! Don't get me wrong, He is pleased to hear your prayer's and see you attend and serve at church....but who He REALLY showers with wisdom, clarity, joy, spiritual gifts, and best of all blessings are those who take the time to be one on one with Him in the Bible!

The statistic's show that only 14% of all Christians read the Bible today

Are you one of the other 86% who do not read the Bible? Do you sit in church and many times feel nothing? Do you pray and feel nothing? Then pick up the Bible! Tell God you want to get to know Him....and start reading! Read every day! Prove you want a relationship with Him....then get ready....because He's gonna show up! You'll start to feel Him in your life...........it's His promise!

There is one other reason why people shy away from wanting to read the Bible.... they don't know where to start! This is so crucial to you connecting with God! A Note to Pastors: In addition to telling your congregation the importance of studying Gods word.... please start sharing with them how you feel Him and how He shows up in your life through spending time reading..... because that's "The truth about the Bible!"
